[2013.12.31] How to Install Chrome at Ubuntu 12.04 Server (Update)

Please refer this tutorial to setup the desktop environment, then use ppa to install chrome

1. wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -
   
2. sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google.list'
   
3. sudo apt-get update

Copy the Code

Selet what packet you wnat to install

1. sudo apt-cache search chrome

Copy the Code

Slect alternative packet to install

1. sudo apt-get -y install google-chrome-stable

Copy the Code

That is all.

Btw, if user update the source after installing the chrome by apt-get update and see the error message like below,

2. W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable/main amd64 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/dl.google.com_linux_chrome_deb_dists_stable_main_binary-amd64_Packages)
   
3. W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable/main i386 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/dl.google.com_linux_chrome_deb_dists_stable_main_binary-i386_Packages)
   
4. W: 您也許得執行 apt-get update 以修正這些問題

Go to the path /etc/apt/sources.list.d

you can double confire that two list files's link the same source. Please remove the google.list.
